LANVIN

During 1900’s Jean Lanvin, brave and pioneristic woman, gave birth to one of the first french Maison Couture. Almost a century later, Bruno Sialelli, at the helm of the company, decided to restart from Jean’s assumptions from the childwood world to esotherism.

In 1889, the young Jeanne Lanvin opens a small accessorieses boutique in the heart of the Ville Lumière. Her uncondional love for her daughter Marguerite brings her to create kids clothing garments. Unlike fashion of the time, Lanvin’s kids clothes weren’t the result of a small sized copycat of adult’s clothes but they had, at the contrary, their own style. This big revolution made parisian women make a reverse action, they wanted to buy kids clothing models adapted for adults. So in 1913 Lanvin, one of the first French Couture Brand, was born. After the couturier passed away the maison was inhereited by Yves Lanvin.

For decades creative directors, company acquisitiond and business transferts followed until, in 2001 the taiwanese group Harmoine nominated Alber Elbaz the creative director. These are the years in which Lanvin regains the lost mojo after her founder’s death. In 2019 Lanvin was taken over by the Focus International group which nominated the thirty-years-old Bruno Sialelli as creative director.

Bruno Sialelli restarted where Jean Lanvin began, from a immaginary childwood world and folkloristic elements, enriching this ensemble with his deep personal vision. He focus the attention on all over logo prints for shirts and trousers in men's collection without forgetting the Elabaz’s legacy clearly displayed on women's collection dresses.

A century later Lanvin brand birth, the new creative direction restablished a balance which does justice to its history.
